The IRS issues most refunds within 21 calendar days.

The "Where's My Refund"  tool on the IRS website is available for checking the status of tax refunds for the current year and the two preceding tax years. The information is available within 24 hours of e-filing your tax return.

  • Social Security Number
  • Filing Status
  • Exact amount of your refund

Your Amended Federal Tax Refund can take up to 20 weeks to be processed. The status is available for amended tax refunds including the current year and the three preceding tax years.
